Trauma-Informed Policy

EMBRACE ALL LATINO VOICES ’s Trauma mission and vision are to transform its culture and opportunities for healing, using the superpower of Resilience to change lives, systems, and communities.

What does it mean to be “Trauma-Informed”?

To be “trauma-informed,” one must first understand the basics of connection, communication, and healing. At its core, the trauma-informed approach asks, “What happened to you?” rather than “What is wrong with you?” It connects a person’s behavior to their trauma response rather than isolating their actions from current circumstances and assuming a personality flaw.
