Regulations for Scholarship Selection Process – 2025
1. Objective
The EMBRACE ALL LATINO VOICES Graduate Scholarship Program aims to support and promote the development of professionals in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) and Social Work fields who are committed to addressing mental health needs in multicultural and multilingual communities, particularly in North Carolina.
2. Available Scholarships
Two (2) scholarships of $2,000 each
One (1) scholarship of $1,000.
These are one-time awards and will be disbursed in the form of a check to the recipients.
3. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet all the following requirements:
Be currently enrolled in a graduate (Master's or Doctorate) program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or Social Work.
Be attending the program in an in-person/on-campus format (no online-only programs will be considered).
Have fluency in English and preferably proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Spanish, Portuguese, or French/Creole.
Must have strong ties to North Carolina, either by being originally from the state or by committing to work within NC for at least two (2) years following graduation.
Be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
4. Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated volunteer experience or community service, such as work in churches, non-profits, philanthropic groups, or community sports teams.
Commitment to mental health equity and serving underserved or immigrant communities.
Applicants who are first-generation college students, come from underrepresented backgrounds in mental health fields, or are 35 years of age or older are strongly encouraged to apply.
5. Required Documentation
All applications must include the following:
Completed Application Form (available through EMBRACE’s website or by request).
Proof of current enrollment in a qualifying graduate program (e.g., enrollment letter or unofficial transcript).
Student ID Photo (a clear image of your student identification card).
Resume or CV (maximum 2 pages).
One (1) Recommendation Letter from a professor, supervisor, or community leader.
Personal Statement (maximum 500 words) outlining:
Why did you choose this career path
How you plan to use your degree to serve communities in North Carolina
How multilingual skills support your work in mental health or social work
Copies of certificates or letters verifying volunteer/community service, signed by the organizations.
6. Application Period
Opens: April 10, 2025
Deadline: June 2, 2025 at 11:59 PM (Eastern Time)
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
7. Selection Criteria
Applications will be reviewed and scored based on:
Alignment with program goals and community impact
Language fluency and cultural competence
Academic performance
Demonstrated commitment to serve in North Carolina
Volunteer or community service history
Quality and clarity of personal statement
8. Notification of Results
Selected candidates will be notified by email on June 30, 2025.
Scholarship recipients will be required to confirm acceptance and attendance at the award ceremony.
9. Scholarship Disbursement
The scholarship check will be handed out during the official award ceremony at:

10. Use of Funds
The scholarship must be used exclusively for academic-related expenses, such as tuition, books, fees, or educational materials.
Recipients will be asked to sign a commitment agreement acknowledging this condition.
